 Jacques-Yves Cousteau (1910-1997) was a french naval officer who studied the sea.
He was an underwater photographer and cinematographer. He was the first to
popularize underwater films through his documentary program “The Undersea World
of Jacques Cousteau”. He was also one of the first people to defend the marine
environment from pollution.
